Centennial Park History Tour: Tennessee Centennial Exposition

See Centennial Park as you never have before thanks to archival images and artifacts from the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition.

On this short outdoor tour, you’ll hear stories of the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition and find specific places in the park to see the 1897 Parthenon and help you picture the past. The tour features archival photographs and images of artifacts from the Exposition.

• This program meets at 6pm at the Parthenon main entrance and takes place outside in Centennial Park.
• The tour involves walking on paved and unpaved surfaces for a total of 0.3 miles.
• Participation is free for ICON members and their guests.

This program takes place outside the museum entrance and involves walking, stopping, standing, and holding papers. The Parthenon will close at 7pm on that day, if you would like to tour inside the Parthenon we suggest doing so before our tour.

A rain date of Wednesday May 31 is set if needed. We will alert everyone if the rain date is needed.
